A Diversified Program
We offer a diversified morning program, Monday to Friday, from 8:45am to 11:45am for children 3 to 5 years old. Our objective is to provide our Owls (4-5year olds) and Pussycats (3-4 year olds) with a safe and caring environment where play and learning go hand in hand.
Each month, we introduce a new theme to promote learning and captivate the interests of the children. Your child will have the opportunity to socialize with other children in the classroom, create arts and crafts and enjoy song and dance. We welcome specialists in the areas of Gym, Music & Movement, French and Science. A special Pre-kindergarten program is offered to the older children to help them prepare for the transition to Elementary school.
French at Curzon
Our philosophy embraces learning through play as this is what is most natural and beneficial for children. Similarly, we create a natural bilingual atmosphere facilitated by our French specialist and bilingual educators. French is part of the everyday classroom programs and is incorporated into all activities. Our French Specialist has focused activities with the children where only French is spoken.

A Typical Day at Curzon
8:45 - 9:00 Welcome and Free Play
9:00 - 9:35 Group Activities
9:40 - 10:15 Group Activities
10:15 - 10:40 Snack Time
10:40 - 11:00 Circle Time
11:00 - 11:30 Show and Tell / Activity
11:30 - 11:40 Clean-Up and Bunny Circle
11:45 - Pick-up time
Two periods each morning allow for rotation as the group divides into three smaller groups for special activities such as music, gym, yoga or science and teacher-directed activities such as theme-related learning, skill development, arts & crafts, stories & play. Groups are often divided into the two main age groups so that age-appropriate learning can take place.
Extended days:
Although Pick-up time is typically at 11:45, Curzon offers the option of its popular Extended Day Program one or two days a week.
Extended Days allow the younger children (Pussycats) to stay at school until 1pm, and the older children (Owls) stay until 2pm. This longer day at school is comprised of art, games, outdoor play, Pre-K activities (for the Owls) and lunch with their teacher and their age-specific group.
In addition to all the extra activities children get to experience, Extended days also build the children’s social skills, and the longer day at school facilitates the transition to kindergarten.

Parents Play a Key Role in the Program
Curzon is a Co-Operative which benefits from parental involvement. Parents play a key role in the running of the school by accepting the following shared responsibilities:
- Participation in 2-4 general meetings
- Duty Days: Approximately once every 5 weeks, one parent will come
in for the morning to assist the teachers. Duty Days are special days
for the Duty Child. They have additional responsibilities, including
Show & Tell, Calendar, and Bunny Circle. These can be attended by
parents, grandparents or caregivers.
- Involvement in one of our parent jobs
